Create Natural Beauty With Honey Masks

Submitted by: Barbee Heiny

Did you realize the

honey is really good for your skin?

That it is also a natural antibacterial and an antiseptic? That is contains amino acids and enzymes? That it is a natural sunblock? That it is humectants that keep moisture in the skin? That it is a natural cure for acne?

The ancient Greeks discovered that honey left the skin soft and supple and looking young. It helps acne because it cleanses the pores and prevents microbes from growing on the skin. The antioxidant properties protect the skin from the sun.

Trying to incorporate a more natural and organic approach to skin care, many people are turning to creating their own skin care recipes instead of purchasing premade products. With the ability to avoid chemicals and allergies, homemade skin care recipes are being sought after by more and more people. This not only includes women, but men as well. Many men are beginning to realize the importance of skin care and are making strides to take care of their skin as well.

Do you really need the expensive skin creams and moisturizers when you have the natural anti-aging honey in your kitchen? Did you know you can make your own honey masks to help alleviate your skins problems like acne and dark spots?

Making honey masks

It is easy to make your own honey masks by adding a myriad of things in your own kitchen, lemon, milk, oatmeal or anything else that is good for the skin. And it is all very inexpensive.

A few ideas include combining a tablespoon of raw honey with 3 drops of lavender oil and put on your skin for 15 minutes; half a tablespoon of raw honey, half a banana, cup of cooked oatmeal with milk and egg for sensitive skin; 2 tablespoons honey and 2 tablespoons milk, a lemon, 1 tablespoon yogurt and lukewarm water, and leave on skin until it dries for acne. Another easy one for acne is honey and a few drops of tea tree oil.

If you suffer from redness, inflammation and itchy skin you can use a tablespoon of aloe vera with honey and leave on for 10 minutes. Be sure to prepare this fresh every day.

Using any of these honey masks will help your skin become more supple, smooth, moisturized and clear. Your friends will notice the change if you use them regularly.

Tips for creating honey masks

Make sure you prepare these fresh every day and from organic ingredients if possible. You also need to filter the honey because raw honey may contain dust, pollen and other elements that could harm your skin. Also, you do need to do a skin test with your honey masks if you have sensitive skin, lest it make you break out.

Honey masks are naturally sticky and messy and can turn people off, though they are really great for the skin. This may be why they are not a part of everyone s beauty ritual. And do you really have the time to prepare fresh honey masks every day?

But, do you want soft, supple, acne free, younger looking skin? If so, it will be worth it to

make your own honey masks!
